Services will be tomorrow (Thursday) for Esther Jensen, 79, of State Center who died Sunday afternoon at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. The Rev Richard Fitch will officiate at the First United Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Hillside cemetery.

Born January 21, 1905 in State Center, she was the daughter of Nicholas J and Mary Myers Hartman. She was married to Alfred G Christoffersen on December 14, 1927; he preceded her in death. On September 23, 1946, she was married to Evald Jensen who preceded her in death in 1977.

Mrs Jensen is survived by one son, Alan Christoffersen of Marengo, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Reared and educated in State Center, she was graduated from State Center High School in 1924 and was employed by the State Center Post Office for three years. In 1945 she too employment as the town clerk in State Center, a position she held until retiring in 1960. Mrs Jensen had served for 50 years as a news correspondent from State Center for the Times Republican.

Mrs Jensen was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the United Presbyterian Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Kensington Club, OUR Club, a charter member of the State Center Garden Club, member of the Margaret Stoddard Study Club and the Wednesday afternoon Bridge Club.
