Mrs. Maude Greer Dead
Mrs. Maude Greer, 14 West South died at the Newman Memorial County Hospital Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. She was 68 years old.
Funderal services will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral Home with the Rev. LeRoy Hay, pastor of the First Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Greer was born in Emporia March 20, 1878, a daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Solomon G. Brown. Mr. Brown was the founder of Emporia's first church, now the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Greer was the widow of the late John Greer, who died in 1940. She is survived by a son, Bryan Greer; a brother, Rice E. Brown, 1223 Lawrence; and a sister, Mrs. Wilbur Frost, Topeka. A daughter, Ruth, preceded her in death.
