Services Friday for Dewey Morris
Dewey Morris, 57, died of a heart attack at his cabin across the highway on Third avenue shortly before noon Monday. He had been afflicted with asthma all of his life and the week before his death had suffered a severe attack.
He was alone at the time of his death but it appeared that he had been sitting in front of the cabin when stricken. He had a bad cut over his eye sustained when he fell but managed to get back inside before he died.
Mr. Morris was born Sept 19, 1898, one of 14 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. John B. Morris, early day ranchers of upper Swamp creek. He had lived his entire life in Sweet Grass county. He owned a farm, the old Freeman ranch west of Big Timber and farmed there for a number of years. Later he worked for many years for Carl Myrstol and other ranchers as a herder and ranchhand.
Funeral services will be conducted fro the Lowry Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Wm. Hood officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Mountain View.
Mr. Morris is survived by ten brothers and sisters, Grover Morris of McLeod, Montie Morris of Lewiston, Ida., Mrs. N. J. Tintinger of Billings, Chester Morris of Sheldon, Wash., Clay and Sam Morris of Big Timber, Mrs. N. W. McKinney of Belgrade, Mrs. M. A. Stonefield of Lexington, Ore., and Mrs. Tom Dooley of Big Timber.
