Tobias Brovont Injured at Rest Home Here
Tobias Brovont, 89, retired farmer and carpenter, died Saturday at St. Mary's hospital a few days after suffering a fall at a local rest home where he had been a resident two months. He leaves 72 descendants.
Mr. Brovont was born in Medina, Ohio, and moved in 1936 to Freeport where he lived with a son, Glen, until moving to the rest home. He was a member of Campbell church of Lake Odessa.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; nine sons, Jess and Ernest of Grand Rapids, Glen of Freeport, Ivan of Sutter Creek, Calif., Emery of Riverside, Calif., Harley of Reno, Nev., Ezra of Ottawa, Kan., Sharron of South Portland, Me., and Stanley of North Manchester, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Wilcox and Mrs. Howard Wilcox of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Ernest Gaines of Bradford, Ohio; 40 grandchildren and more than 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be made by the Beatty mortuary of Clarksville.

Clarksville -- Funeral services for Tobias Brovont, who died Saturday in St. Mary's Hospital, Grand Rapids, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Old Order Church following a prayer service at the Brovont home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was 89.
