Mary S. Lawther, 83, of Sunfield died Nov. 7, 1988, at a Lansing nursing home.
Mrs. Lawther was born oa Nov. 18, 1904, in Sunfield Township, the daughter of Asher & Bertha (Frith) Sackett. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College and a Master of arts degree from the University of Michigan.
Surviving are four daughters, Alice Hayward of New York City, N.Y., Anne Sorrelle of Fairfax, Calif., Susan Lawther of Haslett, and Sarah Krontoft of Grand Rapids; three sons, William of Ypsilanti, James of Germany, and Donald of Saranac; 20 grandchildren; and 12great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 10 at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with the Rev. Bruce Bode officiating. Interment was in Welch Cemetery.
