wife of Charles Asher Sackett.Bertha Elizabeth Frith was born in Bellevue, Ohio, on February 2 1869, the daughter of of Louise Raymond and Edward Frith, a farmer born in England. She grew up with her brothers and sister on that farm. On September 16, 1891 she was united in marriage to Asher Charles Sackett by Thomas Young, a Minister of the Gospel. The couple lived in the area of Sunfield, MI for 74 years on Asher’s family farm and were active and enthusiastic members of the Dow Methodist Church. After Bertha’s father passed, Louise moved into the family’s farm house. The couple would have two daughters, born eleven years apart and an adopted son, Herber. The Ladies Aid Society elected Bertha president of the Ladies Aid Society in 1917. In the year of 1918, the Dow Methodist Young People’s Sunday school elected Asher Sackett as the president of their new missionary society and treasurer of the school as well as Sunfield’s District secretary. The following year, Bertha was elected as the vice president of the missionary society and a chorister and their younger daughter, Mary Caroline, was appointed assistant secretary of the society.

Another child Gertrude Louise Sackett Donaldson is believed to be buried in Oak Grove Cem., Chelsea, where their son David is buried.
