Obituary - Adrian Newhouse, 81, of West Sayville, died on Saturday, May 21, in Brookhaven Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Holland, Mr. Newhouse came to the United States in 1926, and has lived in West Sayville since then. He was a retired builder and built many of the homes in the area.
Mr. Newhouse was a member of the New Life Community Church in West Sayville and was especially active in the choir.
Surviving are his wife, Antje; a daughter, Mrs. Greta Zinderdine of West Sayville; a son, Garrett Newhouse of West Sayville; two sisters, Mrs. Jan Morrien and Mrs. Allie Sloot, both of Holland; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends visited at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville, on Sunday. A religious service was held Monday in the New Life Community Church, West Sayville, with Dr. A. Eugene Pearson, officiating. Interment followed in Union Cemetery, Sayville.
