Funeral services for Mr. James M. Gaspard were Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Rev. Bryan Taylor officiated. Interment followed in Heard Cemetery, Manifest, Louisiana.

Mr. Gaspard, age 70, of Lecompte, entered eternal rest on, April 19, 2012 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.

He was a native of Jonesville. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a retired Lieutenant with The Alexandria Police Department for twenty nine years. He also worked with the Alexandria City Court after retiring. He was an avid fisherman. He was also an animal lover.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Inez Gaspard; one brother, Cecil Gaspard; one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of Lecompte; three sons; two daughters; two step-sons; two step-daughters; one brother; two sisters; twenty nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; also survived by his police family at the Alexandria Police Department.

Honor Guard will be provided by Alexandria City Police.
