1929 Stittville — Mrs. Abbie Smith died at her home yesterday morning after a lingering illness. Abbie DeGraff was born in the Town of Trenton, September 19, 1866, daughter of the late Herman and Margaret DeVoe DeGraff.
She was twice married, her first husband being Charles Ash of Trenton and her second husband George Smith of Steuben, who died in August 1916.
She was a member of the M.E. Church and of its Missionary Society.
Surviving are four children; Earl Smith of Oriskany, Mrs. Walter Fear, William and Wallace Smith of this place, a sister Mrs. Sarah Newberry of Newport, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place in Steuben Corners Cemetery following funeral Saturday at 1:30 at her home and at 2 pm at the Methodist Church. Utica Observer Dispatch Friday March 15, 1929
