Deceased Name: Iva L. Mathias
Iva L. Mathias 83, of Springfield, formerly of Macon, died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Memorial Christian Home.
She was born in Macon on Sept. 16, 1904, the daughter of William and Minnie Hutman Schlingman. She married William R. Mathias in 1924 in Decatur. Preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Mathias was a member of Macon Presbyterian Church. Many years ago, she and her husband were the owners and operators of Bill's Gas House in Macon.
Surviving are her husband, William; two daughters, Wilma Reatherford Gasaway of Springfield and Eula Maree Newbould of Grand Blanc, Mich.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lizzie Aukamp of Macon.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Macon Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Al VanHouten and Rev. Mike Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery.
Ater Funeral Home in Macon is in charge of arrangements.
