Mrs. Agnes Tilger, an early settler of Calumet County, died at her home in the town of Rantoul Sunday morning, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Tilger was born in Germany, Dec. 30, 1852, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tremmel, and came with her parents to America when but a young girl. She was married to Peter Tilger Nov. 22, 1874, at St. Augustine church in this city.

She is survived by seven children, Mary and Aloysius at home Mrs. John Lodes, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Conrad Noll, Milwaukee; Mrs. Frank Bernard, Sherwood; Mrs. Joseph Tyson, Valders; and Mrs. Paul Tremmel, Arnold, Wis.; four brothers, Paul and Geo. Tremmel, Marshfield; Michael Tremmel, Hortonville; and Jacob Tremmel, Waukesha; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Weber and Mrs. Jakes of Appleton.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Catholic church with interment in St. Mary’s cemetery, Rev. Theodore Joerrissen officiated.

Mrs. Tilger was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s congregation, a devout Christian held in high esteem by all who knew her.
