Irene Alford 85,of Texarkana, Texas died Thursday October 23,2003 in a local hospital. Mrs. Alford was born September 25,1918 in Eagle Pass, Texas. She was retired from Houston Water Department and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Harold Alford. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Alford of Dallas; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Bevins Raulston of Dallas; two brothers, Robert Smith of Texarkana; and Charles Smith of Spring, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelly Starr Ducotey of Conroe, Texas; Phillip Suter of Dallas; David Kent Alford of The Colony, Texas; and John Christian Alford of Coppell, Texas; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Cornelius and the Rev. Walter Jackson officiating.
