Services held Monday for Darrell Casey

Funeral services were held at the Community Church in Moab Monday, July 29 for Darrell Kenneth Casey, 82. Mr. Casey died Wednesday, July 24, 1996 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Casey was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Parthenon, Arkansas, a son of Perry and Emma (Reynolds) Casey. He attended Clarksville, Arkansas schools until the 8th grade.

He was married on January 2, 1937 to Lavada Bly in Clarksville, Arkansas. He took great pride in his work, and was a jack of all trades: coal miner, construction worker and gardener. He liked to tell a good story, and to visit with his friends at the coffee shop. He was a member of the Community Church of Moab.

He is survived by his wife, LaVada, Moab; four grandchildren, Marcia Hawks-Carter and husband of Kaysville, Debra S. Hawks, Moab, Shelley D. Hawks, Moab, Michelle "Missy" Casey, Salt Lake City; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Clarence Casey and his wife, Nancy of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Fanna Rhett, San Diego, Calif.; and one half-sister, Helen Hale of Grants Pass, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Casey-Hawks, a son, Kenneth Dean Casey; two infant sons, two grandsons, Troy and Jimmy Casey, a great grand-daughter, Kathryn Casey Carter, and 3 brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday at Community Church with Pastor Keith VanArsdol officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
