According to her New York City Death Certificate - Rose was ill from September 5, 1936 until her death on February 5, 1937 at 2:30 a.m. Cause of Death on the the death certificate states: Chronic myocarthritis (Mycocarditis) and auricular fibrillation - on death certificate.
Mycocarditis is an inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall. Auricular fibrillation, or known as Atrial fibrillation - or AF, is the most common type of arrhythmia. An arrhythmia is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat.
Buried with Rose is her husband John J. McKee. Rose and John were married in New York, New York in 1888. Also buried with Rose is her son Peter McKee who predeceased his mother Rose at the age of 13.
Rose's husband, John J. McKee, was born in Ireland in February 1855. He came to America in 1885. From 1900 until he died, John worked in a stone yard as a derrickman and chainer in New York.
John McKee purchased this plot for his family on November 28, 1898 which is located in the Third Calvary - 52nd Street, Queens Boulevard, Queens, New York. There are four others buried with Rose and John, but sadly there is no headstone to mark their graves.
Their children, born in the following order, were Mary Rose McKee-Morano (wife of James Joseph Morano), Peter McKee, Alice McKee, John J. McKee, Jr., James McKee and Francis Vincent McKee.
