Rev. William Paul McKinstry was the son of Paul and Elizabeth "Betsey" (Pratt) McKinstry. He was the husband of Sally Maria (Cole) McKinstry. He was a Local Preacher/Supply Pastor in the Genesee (now Western New York) Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was ordained Local Deacon September 1837 at Perry Methodist Episcopal Church by Bishop Elijah Hedding. He supplied Franklinville Circuit, Cattaraugus Co., Rushford District, New York 1837.
