She was a native of Cherokee County, NC; daughter of Judy Edwards of Murphy and the late Bobby Garland.
Paula was known for her infectious smile and uplifting personality. She made a friend out of everyone she met. She was loved by her family and friends alike. Paula worked for many years as a Home Health Aide and she loved helping her clients. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Aud and Bertie Lou Garland and her maternal grandfather, Ralph Rogers all of Murphy.
She is survived by her sons, Gage and Keaton Killian of Murphy and fiance, David Hamby of Murphy. She was also survived by her mother, Judy Edwards and maternal grandmother, Lois Rogers of Murphy; uncle, Carson Rogers and wife Thelma of Snellville, GA; Aunts, Shirley Voyles and husband Lewis of Murphy, Susie Dilbeck and husband Ronnie of Murphy. She is also survived by three special cousins, Sonia Osner and husband Elmer of Loganville, GA, Lewis Voyles, Jr., and wife Katie of Guyton, GA and Destiny Cortis and husband Robbie of Mt. Pleasant, SC and a very special friend, Diane Guthrie of Murphy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Chester Jones and Pastor Harold Stiles will officiate. Special music will be by Allen Harris. Burial will be in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregory Bradshaw, Earl Bradshaw, Gordon Farley, Josh Harris, Ronnie Dilbeck and David McClure.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
