Died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Ponchatoula. Was a resident of Hammond and a native of Ponchatoula. He was 38 years of age. The body will be at the residence until 9:30 a.m. Saturday with religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Beulah Baptist Church at Baptist, La. Burial will be in New Beulah Cemetery.

Survived by his widow, Mrs. Lilly Thompson Sherman Hammond; five sisters, Mrs. Marie Chambers, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mildred Latino, Ponchatoula, Mrs. Odile Meyers, Ponchatoula, Mrs. Thelma Bankston, Albany, and Mrs. Bernice Guillaume, Hammond, and four brothers, Filmore J. Sherman, Ronnie P. Sherman, Ray Sherman and Harry Sherman, all of Hammond.
