Flora Gaines Kleckner was born in Volcano, Wood Co. West Virginia in June, 1867, one of five children born to John C. Gaines and Sarah Smith. She married Adin Kleckner, a barber and lived in Parkersburg, WV, as listed in the 1900 Census. One child was known to be born to the couple, a son named Charles. City directories show Adin, a barber, and his wife, Flora living in Findlay, OH in 1904. By 1909, the city directory in that city only lists Charles and Flora. A story in the Findlay, OH paper states: "Dies after two week illness: Mrs. Flora Kleckner died shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday at her home, 122 1/2 North Main St. from appendicitis. She had been sick about two weeks. One son, Charles, survives. She has resided in this city for about five years." July 18, 1910 newspaper.
