Truey Wilbanks Edens, 96, of 186 Chapman Road, Chanticleer and National HealthCare of Greenville, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.

She was born in Greenville County on Aug. 28, 1906 and was the daughter of the late Judge Harrison and Emily Cox Wilbanks. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James Enoch Edens.

Mrs. Edens attended Fruitland Bible Institute in Hendersonville, N.C., and was a member of Augusta Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Edens Porter of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Fred Clark of Greenville. Also, three grandchildren, James Enoch Porter of Tennessee, Michael Eden Porter and Stanley Eric Porter of Indiana; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Adele Thompson of Greenville and Mrs. Evelyn Allison of San Diego, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. from the graveside at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Section V.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 until 2:45 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.

Memorials may be made to Augusta Heights Baptist Church, 3018 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605.
