Mrs. Margaret Shreve Smith, born in Ohio August 23, 1816 and died at Forest Grove June 1, 1901, aged 84y 9m 8d. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church.

When quite young, Mrs. Smith went with her parents to Kentucky thence to Indiana and finally to Illinois where she married Thaddens Smith in 1825. Eleven children were born, four of whom are deceased. In the winter of 1884 she moved to Forest Grove where she has since resided.

She leaves three sons and four daughters: Eli Smith, Gales Creek; Scott Smith, Dilley; Leonard Smith, Medford; Mrs. Mary Hampton and Mrs. Adaline Brown, South Dakota; Mrs. Bell Neighart, Morton, Ill.; and Miss Margaret Smith of Forest Grove.
