Bernetta Garner Barton was born Nov. 16, 1913 in College Ward, Utah. She married Alpha Riddell Barton Dec. 14, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints served in many callings including Primary president and Relief Society president for many years.
She loved music, gardening, sewing, and became an accomplished artist sharing these talents with those who expressed an interest.
She is survived by her husband, 4 sons and two daughters, William Barton (DeAnn), Clark Barton (Cherrill), Dawn Barton, Mary Jane Vuyk (Marty), Rex Barton (Marti), Kirk Barton, 19 grand children, 57 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by James Kay Barton and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, May 25, 2001, 11 a.m. at the 29th Ward, 5th N. 11th W, SLC. Viewing, Thurs. 6-8 p.m. at Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 E. 700 So. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
