Advance-Ernest T. Bird of Advance died early today at Cape La Croix Manor at Cape Girardeau. He was 91 years old. Mr. Bird was a retired merchant, a member of the First Baptist Church and Odd Fellows Lodge here and a former Advance School Board member and city alderman. He was born Dec. 6, 1884, at Springfield, Ark., and on Nov. 24, 1909, he married the former Miss Myra Miller who died Jan. 8, 1954. Surviving; son, Lyle C. Bird, Matthews; daughters, Mrs. Aladine Bowling, Sikeston, Mrs. Marie Eby, Matthews, Mrs. R. D. Williams, Mrs. James Harnes and Mrs. J. P. Holder, all of Advance; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The body is at Morgan Funeral Home here where friends may call after 2 Thursday afternoon. Service will be at 2 Friday afternoon at the funeral home with the Rev. Homer Campbell of Arab and The Rev. Clytee Harness of Advance officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Cemetery here.
