Lanny Meriwether - 67, of Largo, FL, formerly of Flint, MI went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2009. He fought the fight and finished the course laid before him. He was born July 19, 1941 in Flint, MI, graduating from Flint Central in 1959. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 33 years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Susie) Meriwether; 4 children, daughter Tracey (Carl) Ledford, son David (Amy) Meriwether, daughter Michele Lefler and fiance Rich Barror, son Jason (Renae) Meriwether; 16 grandchildren, and twin great-granddaughters; brothers, Robert (JoAnn) Meriwether of Largo, Florida, Bruce (Joann) Meriwether of Tenessee;4 precious nieces and 1 nephew.
Lanny was a devoted husband of over 47 years. He loved and cherished his family. He loved to play church softball and golf. He was kind and loving to everyone he met. Although he struggled many years with much physical pain and limitations from his health he never complained. His strength, both physical and spiritual were amazing to all who knew him and he will be missed so much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Goldie Meriwether of Flint, MI. The family would like to thank Dr. Pascal-Perez and his staff for caring for our dad for many years, along with all of the others that helped in the care of our dad when he was sick. A service to celebrate Lanny's life will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 1 pm at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 7110 Davision Rd., Davison, MI 48423.
