Longtime Lewiston resident L.S. (GP) Edwards, 83, died Friday of pneumonia.

He was born July 4, 1908, at Webb Ridge, Idaho, the son of Louis S. and Esther A. Gosse Edwards.

Edwards was educated in the Webb Ridge, Slickpoo and Lapwai schools through the eighth grade. He married Lucile Rose Eads in 1939 at Lewiston, where he was a self-employed logger and sawmill operator.

He later worked as a steamfitter at Hanford, Wash., and as a commercial fisherman out of Port Angeles, Wash. He retuned to Lewiston in 1949 and logged and worked as a steamfitter in the Northwest.

Edwards was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge No. 751, both of Lewiston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile, on April 14, 1975.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel in Lewiston. Burial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Normal Hill Cemetery.

Friends and relatives will gather after the service at the home of Gary and Carol Walker, 1609 Powers Ave., Lewiston.
