Mavis Joan Price Battle Creek We lost our beloved and cherished mother, Mavis Joan Price, 72, of Battle Creek, Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was born October 24, 1939 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Harry and Agnes (Cummings) Allman. Mavis graduated from Olivet College, majoring in education and music. She married the late Albert Price on August 5, 1966 in Battle Creek. She was an elementary school teacher for 32 years, retiring from North Pennfield School in 1994. Mavis' love for teaching brought her out of retirement in 2002, where she taught at Endeavor School for 3 years, bringing her teaching career to a total of 35 years. She was honored in the Who's Who of American Teacher's. Mavis was member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mom will be remembered for her love for her family, zest for life, and willingness to help others. Mom loved to sing and had the voice of an angel. She is survived by her children, Amy Price and Matthew (Carrie) Price; grandchildren, Molly Campbell, Jordyn Price, Abigail Price, Nathan Price, and Allison Price, and Zachary, Brandon, and Nathan Fitzpatrick; sister, Mary Loukota; and her companion for the last 8 years, Michael Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; and her daughter, Carrie Price. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00-4:00 PM and Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Bouldrey of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
