Mrs. Gunter retired from service as a federal employee, including 29 years at the Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis. She was born July 12, 1923 to Thomas and Lois Lindsey Morgan.
Until her move to Texas in 2006, Mrs. Gunter was a lifelong resident of Memphis.
Since 1936, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Gunter is survived by three daughters; Carol Gaines, Hayesville, NC, Linda Sullivan, Fort Worth, Texas and Jeani Slaby, of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Her surviving sisters are Clara Mae (Mrs. C.C.) Francis, Virginia (Mrs. Steve) Ditto, and Peggy (Mrs. John) McDonald. Mrs. Gunter had seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed the love of a number of extended family and friends.
Visitation and funeral services at the East Shelby Church of Christ, 4700 Mayfair Rd. W, Collierville.
Burial will be in Tiplersville, MS.
