Her sun went down in the morning,
While all was fair and bright,
But 'twas not an eclipse of darkness,
That hid her from our sight.
For the valley of death was brighter,
Than the hills of life she trod,
And the peace that fell on her spirit,
Was the calm, deep peace of God.
She knew in whom she trusted,
She counted all the things loss,
And clung with the arms of faith and love,
To the Christ and to His cross.
Her sun went down with the morning,
While all was fair and bright;
But it shines today on the far away hills,
In the land that knows no night.
