Lena Gorman Died Sunday
Funeral services are being held today at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kenmare, for Mrs. Lena Gorman, age 78, who died Sunday, Oct. 27, in a Minot Hospital. Rev. Joseph Adkins is officiating and interment will be in the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery with Sorensen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Robert Cordes, Charles Cordes, Tom Gorman, Jack Gorman, Jim Ackerman and Maurice Ackerman. Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the church at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Gorman was born Jan. 14, 1896, at Hankinson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer. She married Bernard Gorman at Kenmare on March 7, 1916, and had resided her since. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and its Altar Society, of the VFW Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include four sons, Wally of Kenmare, John of Stockton, Calif., Henry of Glendive, Mont., and Orlan of Hopkins, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Kay Harrington of Ventura, Calif., and Mrs. Dale (Mary Lou) Mahnke of Hopkins, Minn., three sisters, Mrs. Maynard Lenarvener and Mrs. Fred Schwandt of Hankinson and Mrs. Catherine Gillespie of Seattle, Wash.; five brothers, Matt Meyer of Hillman, Minn., Nick, Tony, John and Pete Meyer of Hankinson; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Sally Cordes.
