Mathilde or 'Matilda' was born in Greentahle Germany, the daughter of Franz 'Ludwig' & Euphemia Mathilda (Franke) LEHMANN. She came to the Port of New York with her parents, a sister Augusta Marie who was already married E. Otto CREWE and and her 'single' brother Wilhelm 'william'. They were on a ship called the 'MORAVIA' and arrived March 27, 1884. The information on their arrival came from German records kept at the St. Peters German Lutheran Church at North Ridge, Cambria NY and from the "Germany to America" passengers records in the Buffalo Public Library @ Lafayette Square. It was recently discovered during her sister Augusta Lehmann Crewe WANDE's 1932 obit that Mathilda aka 'Matilda' had remarried AFTER her first husband George Samuel ADAMS died in 1886, he is buried in the Dickersonville Cemetery. Her NEW last name was in her sisters obit as MARQUETTE. Her sister Augusta Lehmann CREWE-WANDE died May 22, 1932. The first name of Mathilda's second husband "FRED" was recently acquired by this article, published in: LOCKPORT UNION SUN & JOURNAL, MONDAY EVENING, JULY 23, 1934 col

Mrs. Charles Schultz, who has been in town for the past few weeks caring for her mother, Mrs. Fred Marquette, in her recent illness, has returned to Wright's, where she is nursing an invalid aunt.
