Mrs. Matilda Thompson, 65, widow of the late Tobias Thompson, died Monday and the funeral services will be held today at the residence, 400 Graham Street, conducted by Revs. J. H. Scrimshire and F. M. Richardson of the Methodist church , with burial at Evergreen.
She is survived by her aged father, Samuel Evans, now 94, two daughters, and two sons, , Mrs. Belle Odom of this city, who was with her at the time of her death, Mrs. H. A. Stuart (Lula) of Fort Smith, AR, Ludric Thompson of Sugarland, and Wiley of Beaumont. All will arrive in time for the funeral .
She was known as a devoted mother, a loyal Christian and a good neighbor. She came to Paris with her husband at the time the Frisco railroad was built, and they settled here, Mr. Thompson becoming a contractor.
The pallbearers will be R.G. Walker, Jim Brand, W.M. Diggs, Will Harvey, M. Bateman and Will Record.
