CHAPIN - Robert C. Barrett, Sr, 92, of Chapin, SC passed away peacefully on Friday May 11, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 19, 1919 in Chapin, Robert was the son of the late Henry A. and Aria Bickley Barrett. Robert was educated in the Chapin School District and attended Newberry College. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and working in his yard. Besides his parents, Robert is predeceased by his three brothers Samuel, George and Lewis Barrett. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Mary Elmore Barrett whom he married in February of 1947; one son Robert Barrett, Jr and sister Ruby Long. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday May 14, 2012 at 11 A.M. in Woodridge Memorial Park 138 Corley Mill Road Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place prior to the service from 10-11 A.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Robert's memory to the Mount Horeb Lutheran Church Building Fund 101 East Boundary Street Chapin, SC 29036 or to a charity of one's choice . Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodridge Funeral Home, Lexington; SC. Online condolences are available at www.woodridge-lexington.com
