Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Benjamin Elmore and Adlene Smith Elmore. Mary had retired from the SC Department of Mental Health after 40 years of service. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and aunt who enjoyed flowers and gardening. Mary was a long-time member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church in Chapin.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert C. Barrett, Sr., and a son, Robert C. Barrett, Jr.
