Percy A. Lamb, 91, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 5, 1909 to Russell Oliver and Floy Demeris (Gray) Lamb. He attended schools in Butler County. He had lived in Oil Hill and Median before moving to El Dorado. For more than 43 years, he worked as a roustabout, pumper and foreman for the Cities Service Oil Company. On Dec. 15, 1949, he was married to Geraldine "Jerry" M. Stewart in Bartlesville, Okla.
He was a former member of the Elks Lodge. He loved all sports. He golfed and bowled and loved baseball. In 1926, he was a member of the El Dorado American Legion Baseball Team that went to Philadelphia to play for the National Championship. Recently, he was placed in the El Dorado Baseball Hall of Fame.
Survivors include: a son, Dennis Bachtell of Klamath Falls, Ore.; a daughter, Linda B. Taylor of Kingwood, Texas; a brother, John Lamb of Mission, Texas; sisters, Lois Cooper of Wichita and Dorothy Wilson of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Gerald Lamb; a daughter, Rowena Lamb; and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army in care of Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, which has the arrangements.
