John A. Abshire Sr.
John A. Abshire Sr., 93, of Martinsville, died Monday, April 19, at Beverly Health Care.
Born April 29, 1905, in Chilhowie, he was the son of the late Allen Abshire and the late Lydia
Shaver Abshire. His wife was the late Ramona Dillon Abshire.
He was retired from American Furniture Co.
Surviving are three sons, John A. Abshire Jr. and Raymond R. Abshire, both of Ridgeway, and
David Gayle Abshire of Martinsville; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McKee-Stone Funeral Chapel. Dr. David Adkins will
officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services and
other times at the home at 1215 Berta Road, Martinsville.

Martinsville, Va. 24112.
