She was born Dec. 31, 1917, at Ludell, Kan., to Wilhelm and Elizabeth (Kastens) Stolte. She grew up at Ludell, and graduated from Atwood High School at Atwood. Following graduation she moved to Denver, Colo., where she attended business college.
On March 18, 1945, she married Eugene Kasten. They spent their married lives in Milwaukee, Wis. She worked as a secretary in Milwaukee for many years. Eugene preceded her in death on June 16, 1992. Following his death, she moved to Grant. She moved to McCook in 1997.
She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church on March 20, 1932, and spent her life in the Lutheran faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene on June 16, 1992; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one nephew, Bruce Licht and wife, Lana of Palisade; one niece, Chris Stolte of Atwood; two sisters-in-law, Bethel Stolte of Atwood, Kan., and Berlene Stolte of Big Timber, Mont.; and one brother-in-law, Emery Sulhoff of Macon, Mo.
Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Herrmann Funeral Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Carl Pullmann officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Milwaukee .
