PIONEER MAUDE SWALL DIES AT 94
Mrs Maude Swall, 1318 Ave, 256, who had lived 93 of her 94 years in Tulare County, and most of her life in the Tulare, area died Monday in a Tulare convalescent hospital.
She was born April 20, 1880 in Ashland, Oregon and moved with her family to Traver at the age of one year, and to the Tulare area at the age of five. She attended Oakdale School east of Tulare, now a part of the Sundale School District and graduated from Visalia High School.
She and Arthur Swall were married in Hanford in 1900 and they made their home on the Swall ranch east of Tulare, He died in 1955, and she continued to live on the ranch until becoming ill recently.
Mrs. Swall is survived by four sons: Harold Swall of Tulare; James and Stanley Swall, Visalia and Richard Swall Corvallis Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Swall will be held Thursday at 2pm in the chapel of the Peers Funeral Service.
Donald Swall, Visalia, a grandson of Mrs Swall, will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Tulare Cemetery beside her husband, Arthur Swall.
