Nellie Maude Bailey Wakeman, 74, died at noon Friday [Oct. 31, 1975] in her Lafayette home. A native of Green Hill, she lived most of her life in Tippecanoe County and Lafayette. She was married in 1934, at Monticello, to Floyd Wakeman, a farmer, who died in 1966.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Ralph) Jones and Betty (Mrs. William) Fleetwood, both of Lafayette; two sons, Charles F. Markwith of Lafayette and Richard M. Markwith of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, James L. Bailey of Elston and Paul Bailey of Williamsport; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
