ILLNESS FATAL TO WM. R. STOCK, 98
William R. Stock, 98, of Beaverton, died January 11, 1970, in the Jackson County Medical Care Facility following a long illness. Born in Ontario, Can., on Feb. 16, 1871, he had spent most of his life in Gladwin County. Mr. Stock was retired from the State Highway Department and was well-known throughout the county. He was married to the former Ellen Crossen on Jan. 28, 1894, in Gladwin. She preceded him in death on June 9, 1948.
Mr. Stock is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mable Waterman, of Coleman, Mrs. Agnes Koppt, of Jackson and Mrs. Vava Gallas, of Baltimore, Md.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. One son, William, also preceded him in death.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger J. Browne officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 1-14/1970 Column – 2 Page – 1.
