She died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Crystal Health and Rehab. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, under the direction of Watson Edwards and Evans Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Ann and Nathaniel Caradine.
She is survived by her children, Edgar (Marilyn) Webster Monee III, Alberta Lee Moppins (Carolyn), of Greenville, Joseph D. Coleman (Christine), of Albuquerque, N.M., and Laverne Caradine, of Greenville; two godchildren, Farenti Faye Lambert (Michael), of Greenville and Gloria (Rev. Charles) Turner, of Tupelo; three step-daughters, Willie Mae Lockett and Carrie Brady, both of Rockaway, N.Y. and Sophernia McKinley, of Greenville; one step-son, Willie Ivory Johnson Jr., of Chicago, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Hattie Johnson, of Greenville; 25 grandchildren, two whom she helped raise, Broderick D. Caradine and Lathausa Caradine (Michael); numerous great-grandchildren; close nieces and nephews, Lewis Franklin, of Omaha, Neb., James O. (Audrey) Solomon, of Joppa, Maryland, Iris Turner (Cleophus) Rice, of Chicago, Ill., Bertha Solomon (Winford) Taylor, of Akron, Ohio and Charlestine Gayles (Clarence) Clemons, of Mansfield, Ohio; special friends, Katie Johnson, Betty Hobbs and Rosie Cox; and other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
The Rev. Thomas Morris will officiate.
