Frances Smith Rutland, 92, formerly of Clemson and widow of Ed Rutland, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gallavant's Ferry, SC, she was a daughter of the late Oliver M. and Elberta Roberts Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Clemson First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Rutland and Frank T. Rutland of Mauldin, SC; four grandchildren, Laine Rutland Pagan, Sarah Rutland, Travis and Ryan Rutland; and one great-grandchild, Rachel Pagan.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rutland was predeceased by a son, Michael Edward Rutland; 2 brothers, Glenn Smith and Clarence Smith; and a sister Willa Williamson. Graveside services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Old Stone Church Cemetery with Dr. Rusty Brock officiating.
The family is at the home of her son, Glenn, 251 Flynns Point Road, Seneca, SC 29678.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.
