She was born on June 9, 1927, in Sherman, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Faith (Moore) Karges.
Ruth Ann had worked for the county Board of Elections as a secretary. She was involved in many organizations: the Minerva Club, Rebekah's, Home Bureau to name a few.
She is survived by her sons: Maury (Mary Gale), and John (Kathy) Alday, both of Sherman, N.Y.; grandchildren: Tyler Alday, Savannah Alday, Tawny Walters, Dawn McGinnett, Lindsey and Nicholas Alday; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert M. Alday Sr., August 22, 2009; a brother; John Karges; and two half-brothers: Bill and Ed Fortune.
