SCOGGINS, JOSEPHINE T. Age 79, passed away, Monday April 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred M. and Annie Mae Thompson, her husband Will C. Scoggins, son, Richard Scoggins, 2 brothers; Charles Thompson and James Thompson, and 3 sisters; Regina Parrish, Elmira Bell and Violet O'Dazier. Josephine is survived by 2 daughters; Wanda Brewer and Cindy Roberts (Jerry), 1 brother, Alfred Thompson (Roberta), 1 sister, Joyce Langlinais (Roosevelt) of Ocean Springs, MS, 2 grandchildren; Mandy Moore (Jason) and Wade Brewer, 2 great-grandchildren; Emma Moore, Maci Moore, and other numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great -nephews. Mrs. Scoggins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoover. She loved to travel, meet new people, and made friends easily. She enjoyed the time spent with her friends at the AHEPA III apartments where she was an active member of the community. She loved children. She took great pride in raising her daughters, helped to raise various nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and loved the children at the daycare where she worked. She faced adversity with determination and grace, and always made visitors feel like family. She had a spirit that shone brightly and will be missed by those who knew her. Graveside services will be at 12 noon, Thursday April 26, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery, with visitation one hour prior at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. Dr. Randy Atkinson will be officiating service
