May 4 – Tuesday
Drew manure all day. Orien dragged corn ground. Mrs. McKensie got killed by the cars
at Black Earth.

Mrs. John McKenzie was killed by the west-bound passenger train as she was crossing the railroad track near the Black Earth station Monday evening.

John MacKenzie , son of Benjamin George McKenzie and Isabella McLeod, was born August 10, 1821 in PEI, d. Aft. 1880 in probably Black Earth, Dane Co, Wisconsin. They married on December 25, 1851 in Ridgeway, Iowa, Wisconsin.

-- Annabelle 'Belle' MacKenzie, b. 3 April 1867, Black Earth, Dane co., Wisconsin, d. 26 Oct 1963, Vallejo, Solano, California. She married in 1896 to Francis Edward 'Frank' Ainsworth. He was b. 10 March 1861, in Pierpoint, Ashtabula co. Ohio. He died in 1922, as the result of a fatal accident, when he jumped from a runaway wagon. Their son George McKenzie Ainsworth, having recently finished his degree from Lawrence University at Appleton, was accidently electrocuted whilst working as an electrician for a mining company.

-- George Arthur MacKenzie, b. April 1869 in Blue Mounds, Dane co., Wisconsin. He died in 1918 in Mazomanie, Dane co., Wisconsin. On the 6th Nov 1892, he married Amelia Baldwin Drake. She was b. Jun 1864 in Middleton, Dane co, Wisconsin, and d. in 1930 in Mazomanie, Dane co., Wisconsin.
