Her parents joined the Sabbathday Shaker Society at New Gloucester, ME in 1782 and she later left to marry her distant cousin on her mother's side of the family, Enoch Chase. Her younger brother, James Monroe Pote, was the administrator of her husband's estate in Dixfield, ME. James Monroe Pote also left the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Society in New Gloucester, ME and lived in Bethel and Mexico, ME.
