H. Genevieve Swaim, 72, was a resident of Newport News VA and Laurel MD and had spent some time in Texas before returning to the Peninsula to live with a niece around 1979 and the next year moved to a retirement community. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Newport News. Genevieve was one of four children of Roland Randolph Banton and Hattie Rebecca Banton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde O. Swaim, her two brothers, Allan Banton and Hermond L. Banton and her sister Lydia. She is survived by a daughter and son, stepdaughter and stepson, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
