Funeral Services For Auto Victim
Funeral services were held Monday of last week for Tom Kersey, 57, who was killed in a freak automobile accident on U.S. 1, six miles south of Baxley.

Mr. Kersey was riding in the back of the truck and just as the truck started to make a left turn from the highway, an automobile attempted to pass. In cutting back in behind the truck, the automobile barely side-swiped the rear of the truck, but in doing so caused Mr. Kersey to be thrown from the truck and killed when he struck his head on the highway.

Services were held for Mr. Kersey at Mt. Zion Church with the Rev. Bob Chavis officiating. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Fannie Bell Kersey; five daughters, Mrs. Fred Chavis of Hazlehurst, Mrs. J.D. McAllum of Gleenwood, Mrs. J.D. Spivey of Forsythe, Mrs. J.W. Rhoden of Baxley and Miss Charlotte Kersey of Baxley; one son, Thomas W. Kersey of Baxley; one sister, Mrs. Emma Sheppard of Baxley; and four brothers, J.L. Bohannon of Sanford, Fla, C.W. Bohannon of Baxley, James Bohannon and Jesse Rowland of Hazlehurst.
