In the name of God, Amen October the twentieth in the year of our Lordonethousand eight hundred and thirty six. I, WILLIAM NEWMAN of NicholasCounty and the State of Kentucky being ill of body but sound of mind and memory and calling to the mind the morality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto all me once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul unto the hands of You who it it and as for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian and decent manner without pomp at the discretion of my executor and as for property that it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I leave as follow,
