Born January 10, 1920 in Galveston, Texas, to James Garfield Craft and Lily Mae Roden Craft, Cloyd joined the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific during WWII. After his honorable service to his country he was employed and later retired from Union Carbide as an operator. He was an expert maker of fishing nets and seines, ownership of which was highly praised by local fisherman. Most of his leisure time was spent fishing and boating with his older brother, James A. Craft. He was also an enthusiastic fan of baseball and golf and enjoyed working in his backyard garden.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eunice Pixley Craft; brothers, James A. Craft, Willard E. Craft and Paul E. Craft, survivors include a nephew, W.E. "Tony" Craft, Jr.; step grandsons, Jerry Austin, Charles Austin and Aaron Austin; other relatives and friends.
