John Sylvester Adams, 68, died at St. Patrick's Hospital at 7:15 a.m. today after a month's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the graveside in the Springhill cemetery at Simms, La. The remains are at the Hixon funeral home here.
A resident of New Orleans for the past several years, Mr. Adams had been in Lake Charles for about seven weeks at the home of his daughter. Mrs. J.C. Vallery. He was a native of Montgomery, La.,and a sawmill foreman by trade.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Adams of New Orleans; three sons, Edgar S., Otis A. and John W., all of New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. Vallery, Mrs. Michael Stein and Mrs. John Abraham of New Orleans, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
