Funeral service was held at the Methodist church at Oskaloosa last Saturday afternoon, March 20. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Obituary-Casebier
Edna Anne Brunton, was born near Marshalltown, Iowa, October 6, 1862. She was one of twelve children of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Brunton, a pioneer family of Ozawkie, Kans. There are three of those children surviving their sister. They are Mrs. Nellie Harden, Lawrence; Mrs. Mattie Kearns, Compton, Calif.; Sherman Brunton, Bakersfield, Calif.
Edna Brunton for eleven years was a primary teacher in the schools at Oskaloosa and Ozawkie. In 1887 she married H. N. Casebier, attorney, of Oskaloosa. To them were born two children, Harry E. Casebier, Long Beach, Calif., and Verne Casebier Kilmer, Kansas City, Mo. Four grandchildren also survive.
A Christian since early childhood, Mrs. Casebier was a member of the Methodist Church at Oskaloosa. Her trust in her Savior was complete. She was ever a good mother and a faithful loving wife. Her kindness and her sweetness of character endeared her to her family, her pupils and her many friends.
